Mrs N suffered with health issues which made it increasingly difficult for her to undertake her duties. Her employers were selling part of their business. Mrs N contacted Slee Blackwell Solicitors and asked us to deal with a Settlement Agreement on her behalf. It had been arranged that her employment would be terminated by mutual consent, with the employer paying the employee’s legal costs. The employer was keen to enter into the Settlement Agreement as it made the sale of part of the business more attractive to potential buyers. It also benefitted the client who consequently received substantial compensation for loss of employment.
