Mr P’s employment contract contained restrictive covenants which prevented him from working for a rival company for some time after his employment ended. He was therefore in some difficulty when he was offered work by a competitor at a later date.
Following a separate, potential disciplinary matter, his employers offered him a Settlement Agreement. Mr P sought advice from one of Slee Blackwell’s Settlement Agreement experts. They were able to obtain his employers’ written consent that, in addition to the compensation and reference offered under the Settlement Agreement, Mr P could undertake the work offered by their competitor immediately after his current employment ceased.
